Tyres & Wheels

man putting the tire of the vehicle
Tyres and wheels are the components of your vehicle that separate you and the road – so they’re obviously very important to the smoothness and safety of your ride. Our fully trained vehicle technicians are experts at diagnosing tyres and wheels, and are able to quickly uncover problems or potential threats to your driving. Dodgy tyres don’t just affect the safety and pleasure of a ride, they can also undermine the health of the rest of your vehicle’s internal workings. We’ll take special care to keep your tyres in a good condition, and protect the safety of you and your vehicle in doing so. You can find more information on our services related to tyres and wheels by reading on below.

Punctures
One of the most common road hazards for your tyres is getting a puncture – it’s happened to the best of us. One way or another, sharp objects often find themselves embedded in your tyre, and it’s likely you won't notice it. It might be that your vehicle starts to pull to one side when you’re trying to drive straight, or you might just notice that the tyres aren’t looking or feeling inflated. It’s possible you have a faulty tyre valve that is letting air escape intermittently. Most punctures can be repaired, but in cases where that isn’t possible, we recommend replacing the tyre for your safety.

Monitoring Tread Depths
The legal minimum for tread depth for each tyre is 1.6mm – and if any of your tyres aren’t complying with this, you could be liable for damages in the case of an accident. Low tread depths can also affect your vehicle’s miles per gallon (MPG), and this can really cost you in the long run. Our garage service pros can replace any tyres with inadequate tread depth, and the cost of failing to do so in case you are fined is far greater than the price you’ll need to pay for new tyres (police fines can be as high as £2500!).

Risks to Suspension
The suspension is the part of your vehicle that links the internal engine with the wheels, and you probably know that a good suspension is the difference between a smooth, pleasant ride and a bumpy, uncomfortable experience. When you neglect your wheels and tyres, you can end up causing serious harm to your suspension – and this can cause all manner of problems in the rest of your vehicle. Repairs to your suspension can be painfully expensive, meaning it’s far more cost effective to keep an eye on your tyres.

Diagnosis and Intervention
The nature of tyres is that it won’t always be immediately obvious why they are in bad shape or if they seem to be causing a strain to other vehicle parts. Our skilled and qualified vehicle technicians have the top quality tools to quickly identify and uncover the cause of the problem, and then carry out the work to repair it. We’ll make sure to do everything efficiently, but carefully, ensuring that your vehicle is properly repaired.
